Looks like something out of the Vision Motorsports stable. Perhaps google them and Orca Porsche.

As I said. Look up Orca. Hard to tell if this is from the same stable but definitely influenced.

333, are ORCA the same guys who ran the LM Vipers in the late nineties? Also, aren't the two cars you posted the same car, IIRC?
I don't know where the car is from. I have a few suspicions, but I really don't know.
Looks like the roof is chopped. I doubt there is anything '944' left other than the brakelights.
Brings back memories of when PCA club racing was dominated by steroid-injected 944's. Keep in mind you could buy a 968 off the lot at this time, and the 944 wasn't too old. PCA racecars are so tame compared to those days. Can't help but wonder about the direction privateer track cars could've gone if Porsche continued to develop the 968 chassis.
Probably something Porsche dug up from the basement of Weissach..... More seriously though - maybe FabCar?
Take care!

it looks as though the roof scoop is there to possibly charge the trailing low pressure zone with positive pressure, as a way of reducing drag. it does not look like it is being used to condense the air and ducting it under the wing for laminar flow, as the scoop does not taper at the rear to increase the pressure. its also hard to tell if it's a single element wing, or a flap style wing. it looks like a single element wing to me. just an armchair aerodynamicist observation

Great info about the reasoning behind the mods done on that car. Looks like it has been modified for racing and not just for looks, though that is the main reason I took interest in this car. The 968 tail lights look great on the 944, too. I always wondered how it would look with a chopped roof and not have that "bubble looking hatch on the back" that some people have said about it.lol
