I am trying to remove the cover over the transmission tunnel. I can't figure out how to remove the shift lever boot and ****. Searched around the forum and don't see anything. That probably means it is terribly easy and I just can't figure it out.

Its standing the way of my Saturday project so any help would be appreciated!

raise the shift boot up and there will be a clip right at the base of the hard ****. remove the clip to remove shift know and boot

Thanks. I wasn't pulling on the shift boot hard enough because I was afraid to break something.

After the clip is removed, you just have to get serious with it. Give it a hard yank and it'll come off.

Thanks to all. The tunnel is now history. Decided for a track/street car it looks better without it.
