Not to mention the original post was a "feeler" type "how much interest will this generate before I set the price" posting.

What does that have to do with anything? You paid $17?
I believe it gives you the ability to post want ads in the FS/WTS/WTT forum. Not escape criticism. It is a public forum. You post here, and you may very well get comments like Eric951 made.
As a member, you should know the rules about want ads in the technical forum.
