Default Best Wax for Guard's Red

Recently I just waxed my car with my Turtle Wax Ice and was unimpressed. It worked well on my last ride as it was black, but doesn't cut it on the red. Does anyone have a recommendation to use on this color that will make it stand out?

NOTE: This will be after I claybar and do the proper machine glaze and finishing compounds.

Any suggestions?

I'm sure you'll get lots of opinions but I like One Grand Blitz wax.

I like the Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba wax.....real nice deep shine and it lasts pretty long too. Plus you can buy it at a local auto parts store.

Turtle Wax Ice is junk. It doesn't shine and it leaves streaks. And it doesn't last long.

I now use my remaining bottle to wax my mower.

I vote for Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba also. It makes my red Minty car mintylicious.

Seems to be a common carnauba theme here. Blitz is carnauba as well btw.

I am partial to Pinnacle products.

You can buy it here:

I am not associated in any way with Autogeek - but I do love Pinnacle Products - I have used them for the past five years on my Cadillac and they are wonderful.

I'm a big fan of the Zaino Brothers stuff. Pain to do their whole "initial" polish/"wax" (it's polymer based, not wax) - but it looks FANTASTIC. Overall the stuff isn't that expensive either - but it is "part" based, so you spend a lot of money getting a kit initially.

My dad has some MG Carnauba on his shelf, I'll try that after I rub it out instead. Thanks

+1 for Zymol.
I used it on my last car which was repainted with PPG Harlequin, and now use it on my Guards red 952. It adds a depth to the colour and a great gloss

I think that as long as you go with a good quality carnauba or polymer you are going to be ok. Turtle wax is cheap stuff, so you get what you pay for. From what I have seen, the difference between the carnauba wax and the polymer type products is the type of shine and the length of time it lasts. I like carnauba wax because the shine is a little "deeper", but you do have to apply it more. I don't mind waxing my car, so this is a good trade off. The polymer stuff has more of a surface shine, still looks nice, but its big selling point is it lasts twice as long.

Collinite Super Doublecoat #476. Shine is 8.5/10. Durability is 10/10... It is a hybrid polymer/carnuba and many durability tests have proven that it lasts like crazy. Read reviews and you will see that it is highly recommended.... Remember that prep is 80% of the work and don't lay it on to thick... It will last 6 months parked outside...

I'm a big fan of a layer of Meguire's Tech 2.0, followed up by a few times around with Griot's Spray-On Wax. The stuff works awesome and is as easy to use as quick detailer. The two together provide a very deep shine and it's easy to maintain.
