Default Help!!!! No start...SOLVED

"87 924S
Below is the link to the original thread. This like most of us has been an intermittent PIA.

I ended up spending quite a bit of time cleaning up PO added wiring and general housecleaning while waiting for parts to arrive..
Ran thru testing on the Fuel press regulator, spark, injector, fuel pump, DME solder joints, grounds, cleaned /plugs rotor, AFM test....Speed and REf test..

Took apart fuse and relay blocks and cleaned contacts....

I looked for the alarm to bypass, but am not sure my car had it..

In the end it seemed to be the DME coolant Temp Sensor..I jumped it to ground, and although i did get better results at starting it didnt seem to be the whole issue...I was hoping that a new one would clear it up completely. So far so good!!

So i will put the seat back in tomorrow and see if the good running condition continues...

This success has me questioning if i reallly need to sell it..haha

thanks for all of your help!!

John

I just had same issue as you, again ! Died driving down the road, tried all the usual fixes, nothing. Did a search and found yours. Never would have thought of coolant temperature sensor. Tried to unplug it and found it loose, pushed it back in firmly and it fired right up!
Thanks for sharing your experience, it just saved a tow bill and a couple hours in the shop. Now maybe that's why it won't pass smog ......
