Mother's Polishing Ball
#2
I always found those Mothers ***** much too large for polishing just the lips but good for full polished wheels. The polish would get all over the adjacent painted spokes and change the sheen. A semi-hard buffing cone and aluminum compound followed with Happichs Simichrome metal polish works great on Fuchs and other narrow lipped wheels.

Two questions
1) Do the wheels have thier original anodization?
2) What type of finish are you after?
But to your question, KuHL is spot on, the polishing ball is far too big and will not work well for the lips on your wheels.

My wheels are factory finish as far as I know. I am just wanting to spruce them up a bit. I have thought about doing a cheap resto to them. It would really make my car pop I think.
I was thinking of getting the powerball mini as I need it for another project.

If they are the factory finish, you cann't polish them to a shine, the anodization gets damaged over time and the only way to get back to the OEM look is to have them refinished. That said if you give them a good cleaning (dish soap and water), and then use a clay bar to pull out some of the debris, you should be able to use a light coat of vaseline to bring them to a respectable level (depending on how far gone they are).
