Default What does cheesehead translate to ??

More specifically, what is the exact name/description of the 12 pt socket needed to remove the rear axles on the 951? Doing the RMS & got slowed down with all the parts and tool shops closed on a Sunday. Much easier to call in to check inventory if I know the name.

Many thanks !
Brian

An allen will fit in there but could cause trouble.

A google search for "der KäseKopf" reveals this video. I do not believe he can remove a rear axle.

Cheesehead is a different thing than the socket type. Cheesehead refers to the square profile shape of the bolt head. The socket type for CV bolts is called XZN or triple-square, as others have noted. There are also cheesehead allen bolts, f'rinstance.

Do not use an allen wrench. Those bolts can be tough. I had to chase a guy down in a Snap-On truck to find a triple square socket that would work...You may need to rotate the wheel in order to get a good fitment on every bolt. Sometimes the position of the axle can make one or two difficult to reach.

While you're waiting, spray every bolt with PB Blaster for a few days before...
