Default hard to remove speed/reference sensors...

I'm having a difficult time removing the speed and reference sensors. I'm twisting them left/right, pulling on them, trying almost anything but no luck. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions to removing them?

1. Have beer ready.
2. Spray base of sensors with a little of your favorite liquid wrench flavor.
3. Twist back and forth a couple of times.
4. Repeat step 2.
5. Open beer. (I recommend Heineken, Sam Adams etc)
6. Drink beer.
7. Once beer is empty try to pull them out while twisting back and forth.
8. If steps 1-7 do not work post reply on thread stating F40LM does not know what the f&%$ he is talking about.
9. There is a rubber ring on them IIRC, after they are removed wipe them down and put a little grease on the ring it otherwise may be dried out or damaged from the liquid wrench drying it out.

Seriously they will come out, sometimes you just have to hold your mouth just right. Just a little angle will make it like trying to get blood out of an onion sometimes.

If you aren't going to reuse them, use pliers or something you can put under it and pry up with. I did mine with the manifold and everything else off so I had a lot more room to work with and was able to pull them out by hand. It would be a PITA with everything else still attached.

They can be a major PITA to get out sometimes, especially on a turbo which has even less space to work. Depending how bad it is, be prepared for the two most likely outcomes.

1) Sensor pulls apart and you are left with the metal sleeve still inside the bracket and the plastic piece in your hands.

2) Sensor bracket breaks

The sensor bracket is relatively cheap and you should be able to find a used one even cheaper.
