still keen to know this.

i prefer a late dash as I have one now. has to be black for me. as mentioned the HVAC pushes a lot more air. but there's nothing wrong with an early dash if that please you aesthetically.

i think i was spoiled by my '80 924T interior, it was all black, instrumentation was green on black. the early 944 went weird colour combos and even the plain black dash had silver center console and yellow on black instruments. i liked it better when it was kept simpler.

At the front it's the a-arm and the spindle (not the hub) that dictates the offset. At the rear it's the hubs.
