Has anyone replaced a late 951 rear wheel bearing themselves?

Just to conclude things here, a new bearing cured the whining noise that the car has had from the day I bought it.
I definitely needed another person to do this job just when driving the hub out of the bearing with a soft drift. One person hammers the hub out while the other pulls on the hub from the outside. It would also have been nice to have a friend pull and release the parking brake for me while I was removing/installing the rear halfshaft (it can easily be done alone, but all the back and forth wasn't fun).
I also wouldn't try it without a bearing puller/installer. I can't imagine using a slide hammer to complete the job without damaging anything. (but Clark's says you can)
Thanks to everyone who helped me with this small project!

I've done the bearing removal two ways: on the car, using a Kukko internal puller and counterstay; off the car using a hydraulic press. Both work well.

I believe its called a hubshark, its a REALLY big slide hammer, works ok.
Now if you want really easy, as in 20 minutes total... The Factory wheel bearing tool is now a air/hydraulic unit that you use on the car... You have adapters like your doing the threaded rod way but its hydraulic, its so quick and easy!
Glad it solved your noise!
