The configuration of the projectors at first was a little difficult but nothing crazy. I got some warping software for PC that lets you actually shape the projected image to follow the alignment of your screens, easy peasy now.

And you have different wheels for the different car types?

Yes, I've got a GT rim and a Formula rim. The Clubsport wheel base has a quick release like a real race car.

Very nice rig!

I used to love hours in the simulator. Now all my disposable income and time goes into the race car. Guess I love that more now!

Yeah I'd love to have a real race car but could not afford the time or effort. I enjoy that I can race on any track with any car.

tire budget is less and you can "reset" when you hit the wall!

I'll let you sit in my race car if I can sit in your simulator!

Its P Cars and Dirt 3 in the video but I run almost every sim under the sun. That video was originally an hour long, I had to cut it down for youtube.

The GT rim for that wheel is a replica of the one in the BMW GT3 race car. Right now they are making other manufacturer rims, its just that that is the only GT one out now. Future ones will be different makes.

edit:I know lots of you guys are all about real racing, and that is the ultimate but you can train and have tons of fun in a simulator. If you need any pointers or tips or want to build one let me know. I have connections and can get D-box 4 actuator platforms for almost half off. Can't express how fun it is. After about two/three minutes your brain starts getting fooled. The green hell, in this, with the surround sound pumping is amazingly immersive. There are tons of times when I brace for impact when fudging a turn. LOL

The only thing missing is a credit card reader. You need one so that each time you hit the wall hard you have to take $15k out of your bank account!

I used a simulator to race in leagues in 2000-2005, spent countless hours doing Grand Prix Legends (still my favorite) and rFactor. I can remember many nights racing US friends till 1-2 AM and start racing with Euro buds from 2 till I couldn't stay awake any longer.

Still good friends with many of my league racers.....miss those days. Really helped when I went to many of the tracks "for real."

Ahhh, too many interests, too little time.

Yeah as a training tool, in my opinion its awesome. I'll never go to the green hell or any of these exotic locals, but the tracks are supposedly spot on and the physics and force feedback is accurate, at least to the little racing that I've done. You can change weather, time of day, you're cars are infinitely adjustable. And its just plain fun.
