Default I want to see your track/daily driver interior

I want to see pictures of what people have done with their 944's interior especially for cars that they use as a dual purpose daily driver and track car. I was thinking of putting in a race dash and redo the carpet/sound deadening so it is minimal weight. Also, I think I'll strip the rear seats, put in race seats, and strip the sound system. What have you done and how tolerable is it? Could you go 3-5 hours in it to travel or only 2 minutes?

Only decent pic I have.

I haven't really deleted anything from the interior. I may do it at some point, but I like my carpet, leather interior etc. and just can't justify pulling it out!

Run a full interior and AC. If you drive the car to the track, it might as well be enjoyable. =) I also DD my car.

Do you think those Sabelt seats can support 6'3" and 33" waist?

I would think so, I am 6' and 1/2" with a 34" waist.

It is a custom bar. I purchased it through VT951.

That's cool! I really like the seats and the quick release. I found that these seats are dimensionally the same as the similar sparco models. I used this to purchase an extra seat pad to make it a little more comfortable for the longer drives. I couldn't find a seat pad like that through Sabelt.

Has anyone ran a small racedash like Seafeye but carpeted up the back to deaden the sound? Would that just cancel any weight reductions you just made?

Seafeye: What are all the toggle switches for and why? I've always wondered but always felt a little sheepish in asking. I know one of them is probably a battery kill switch and a fuel pump but not the other dozen.

I am 6' 1" with about a 33" waist. I find them very comfortable. There are only two things you need to keep in mind.
1. You may not have enough room for sliders. My seats are bolted to the floor in a fixed position.
2. Your legs will be too long to comfortably get in with the steering wheel in place.

Great thread, I love road/track interiors and I'm always interested to see how people balance the compromise. Mine is definitely not track/daily driver, its a third car and pretty much just goes back and forth to track events now, however that still counts as street driven. One thing to note, the approach I've taken is totally non-invasive, everything can be returned to stock, there are no holes drilled.

So, the view from behind, rear seat delete, a Heigo Club Sport bar with permanent harness bar welded in place by a local shop (So Much Win Racing). A Cobra Evolution GT driver seat mounted on Sabelt sliders and Brey Krause side mounts and a Corbeau Forza II passenger seat mounted on Corbeau sliders. The driver side has a 6-point Scroth harness as well as a 3-point belt for street use, the passenger side only has a 3-point belt at the moment as I'm trying to track down a deal on a matching harness.

Alright, excuse the track gear stuffed behind the seats in this shot. A better view of the rear seat delete. There is a carabiner mounted on the passenger side to secure my helmet/HANS when driving to the track, I'd prefer to not have those projectiles loose in the car with me. On the driver side I've mounted a small HalGuard clean agent fire extinguisher. More for use in the pits if anyone needs help, or to put myself out if I'm on fire after I get out of the car, I can pop it and grab it with my right arm while in the seat.

In the front I've got a Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel on an NRG 2.0 quick release and spacers to get my arm positioning comfortable.

Steering wheel removed as with the deep seat I can't get in/out with it mounted. I've got another carabiner to hold the sub-straps down when I drive on the street, I'd rather not take a punch in the junk from the buckle in an accident. 968 centre console tray and Innovate MTX-L wideband gauge also in this view. The 3-point belt on the driver side is a non-retractable from Andoauto.com that has a cloth buckle side that works with the seat pass through on the tunnel side (the buckle can be moved out of the way when the 6-point is used on track).

One last shot.

Well not really a DD or a Track car but it's driven around almost everyday.Interior pretty close to being OEM except for a 968 CS steering-Shift **** insert & an Alpine cd charger/receiver.Also can't see them when not in use but (hide & seek) cup holders.
