If I were faced with a compressor replacement, I'd look for one that was designed for the higher pressures of R-134a that can be modiified to fit. The one offered by Zims specifically warns about use with 134. IMO a rebuild on these older units is a total crap shoot. I'd also go with the Griffiths condenser.

Mine quit working too and I remember the PO telling me he recharged it with 134. I'm sure it's the original one designed to work on the R12. Hmmmm, did not know 134 ran at different pressures.
