Why is there this sticking out from under my valve cover? Is this part of the gasket? It's breaking off in little bits.




My working theory is that previous owner cut out his own gasket from a cereal box with a scissors

Yeah, it's just the valve cover gasket sticking out a little. No worries, unless it starts leaking. Mine is the same way.
