924 Head on 931?
Hey guys just curious I didn't find an answer searching through the forums. I was wondering could you put an early 2.0l 924 cylinder head on the 931 and make it non-interferance? I know the heads and pistons are the difference between the motors. I'm not an engine builder so if it won't work please explain, I assume that if it would work I could see the 931 having crappy compression ratio's. Any who thanks for your time!

bad ideea in so many ways...first..even if possible..the 924 head is designed for little hp...so it will flow alot less than the 931 head.
the 924 head is flat
the 924 pistons have a bit of space between their top and the deck at TDC (combustion chamber is inside the block)
the 931 head has a dome.
the 931 pistons sit flush with the deck at TDC (combustion chamber is inside the head)
so..if you use the 931 pistons and the 924 head, the pistons get closer to the head..actually they touch it and the valves...well...what valves?
I guess it would be somehow possible to use this combination with a very precise cam and some custom pistons..but still...you would get a diesel engine as the static CR would be trough the roof
If you want to make a 931 non interFEAReance just get some custom pistons.
