Default Oil Pressure Pegged...

...so its got to be a short or a bad connection. Can anybody point me to the sending unit so I can check the connections?

Didn't want to hijack the "bounce" thread.

It's right below the oil filter.

However the gauge pegging high is the typical mode of failure for the sending unit. If yours worked before, then the sender has probably failed. If it was always like this as long as you've had the car, then the previous owner might have put the wires on the wrong way...very common. You can swap the wires around by reaching in through the passenger side wheel well, in front of the wheel.

You can also test your gauge using this procedure.

If you have to replace the oil pressure sender...
Do Not Use URO Brand.
