The larger impeller is for a 3L block. The 2.5 uses the smaller impeller.

You may be asking for trouble if you put it on your '84 944.

You have been a 928 owner for years. You know the misery of "Do Overs"

You can use the non turbo WP on the '84 944
You need to get or use the 32mm cam idler pulley--you may have the 46mm idle pulley now.

The non turbo WP might not have the updated HD water pump bearing----The reason for the change to the updated turbo water pump.

How old is the non turbo pump you might use? Did the PO have it and not use it himself?

IMO not worth it just to use an old pump.
