There was a recall on that hose.
If you get your VIN and call 1800porsche you may be able to get a new one.

yeah I heard there was a recall but I didn't bother to look it up. My car is an 89 so I'm not sure if it was affected, but in any case I literally didn't want to drive the car anywhere until I got it sorted.

I just got the new jumper on there (had a whole new thread about that so I'll fire it up soon and monitor it for leaks.

The old one cracked horribly once I removed it:

I didn't actually know that the real fuel line is a braided hose inside the rubber, so I actually might have been OK to drive the car but I'm glad I replaced it anyway.

You could check and if you are.eligible for a new one then you would either have a spare or help someone out and get some of your money back. There is also a guy who will buy your old jumper to make another one, out of braided stainless steel. Name is Lart.

FYI JIK

This is the recall information.

Call a local Porsche dealer and find out if your car qualifies. They might ignore you unless you press due to the age of the recall.

I did not know LART did hoses.
He is one of my saved sellers on ebay.
