When we do Viper alignments, we offer 2 types. A standard 4 wheel is 160, a corner balance, ride height etc for 550. The guy was either quoting high to scare you off, or they charge for the more involved alignment.

I think I paid $220 for mine last year. I needed it badly though. I had the rack out plus I replaced all the front suspension components with new stuff. An independent porsche shop did mine. They have a 944 spec racing team so I felt confident taking it there.
