Default Anyone every stripped and reclear coated wheels?

Hey all,

Got a set of 8 spoke RHs that the centers are painted and the halves are polished alum. To my suprise they are one piece.. thought I could remove the centers and strip or sand the halves, then polish and recoat. The Clear is peeling prety bad. I'm looking for advice, they were too expensive to replace and want to refinish. The centers are not so bad but the halves (or I guess in my case whole) outer ring is peeling and hazed..

Ideas?

Cheers, Mike

I'd turn them in to a wheel refinisher and let the pros polish out the lips, and while they're at it refinish the centers to whatever you want. It shouldn't cost too much to do.
