Max is my go to guy for smaller stuff, but since moving to provost the cost has significantly increased. He quoted me 14hours for straight removal and replacement of the head (provided by customer). He also does not do side work.

Talking with JKW about seriously driving or trailering the car to him...

Van is correct, it takes a unique aproach to get it off with the head on. You can also fill the cylinder with compressed air to keep the valve up.

Filling with compressed air also serves to tell you where your leak is. Valves (air exiting the exhaust or out of your intake manifold). Rings, damaged headgasket, or cracked cylinder out through the oil fill area. Both require pulling the head. If all is sealed with compressed air, chances are high it is a broken valve spring. Hope this helps and is not to rambling.
