Default Suspension Re-Birth Questions

Once I replace all bushings, bearings, springs, struts and shocks, tires, tierods AND get a Porsche-dealer alignment; will the car's ride & handling once again feel factory new?

Or does 25 years of age ultimately eliminate that level of rejuvination?

While I'm old enough to remember test driving a few 944 models in the 1980's, I dont remember specifics.

Thanks all..

Honestly, with the level of service you're looking at doing, you'll probably get better than new ride.
Especially if you swap away from the rubber torsion bar bushings.

It's hard to say - if you really want to get the handling back to new, you'll also need to look at your torsion bars, inner and outer rear bearings and get a transaxle service.

It'll certainly be darn close! (And, for the price, you could probably buy another 944 - not that I'm suggesting that you do that, just pointing out that the level of work required exceeds the purchase price... and that's why there are a lot of junky 944s out there).

If you care to drive a car that has already had all that done..

Hit me up, stop by, call me... NEW bushings, struts, shocks, sway bushings, wheel bearings, tie rods, etc..etc..etc.. OH, and manual steering!

I'm in Ashland now... and sporting a fancy RED turbo nose on the ole NA...

I did all of that to mine over the winter. It is like a new car. The handling is great and much more fun to drive. I don't know if you have an early car or not, but its really cheap to do it on an early model.

My tie rods and tires were in good shape so I didn't change those.
