Default quick question - pressurize fuel system with jumper

I installed new fuel lines and want to pressurize the system before starting the car. I want to make sure I am doing this right. I put a jumper in the DME from 30 to 87b and the fuel pump should come on without the key in the ignition? Or do I have to have the key in, turn it on without starting and then jump it to hear the pump?

I would pull your batter cable. jumper the fuel pump relay, turn the ignition on (dont start). Now when you connect your battery cable, the pump will turn on. this way you will be looking at the fuel lines, and can simply remove the cable if you see a leak.

You can create a Three Wire jumper which you put in where your DME relay sits. This will start the fuel pump. I used this when I had a bad DME relay and it's a nice get home fix.

Do a google search for DME Jumper and the first hit is a pdf with details.
