Do you mean the door bumper guards, or the ones that go up the pillar along the windshield/roofline?
I am guessing you mean the first one I mentioned. My shop took mine off as mine did not match well with the rest of the car (don't know how they did it but it was a long time ago. They repainted them and put a nice set of strong auto grade double stick material in for me but that was seven years ago and I never put them back on. Car looks gorgeous without them. If you have to take them off and for some reason don't have pins or brackets holding them on, my best guess would be piano wire or dental floss. Also the drivers door full length strip has a screw on one end of the door where it opens.
If you mean the other ones, they are held on by weird pressure clips. I had my shop take them off as well, and they replaced the long, thin rubber seals underneath them when they did my detail. The seals are not too expensive and they look great for such a minor detail.

Yeah, the door strips along the 'belt line' between the wheels, 3 pieces including the bit on each fender.
If these are just adhesive, that's great, so long as they don't snap when I heat them up and try to take them off.

they are adhesive, just be careful, there seems to be two peices to them, a little track that goes on the inside of the actual trim peice if i can remember correctly, and there is a plastic rivit inside the door that also holds it, i can try and find a picture for you...

I've been looking to do the same thing. Are there any holes left in the door after removal? I'd rather ditch the strip, but don't want to be left with any holes that require filling.
