Wiper issue
i've done a search, not sure what to look for.
It's pretty simple, my wipers work, but they stop when i turn them off, in that exact position when i turn them off, they could be pointing up, or any other direction. they don't go back to their original position by it self. and they don't work when it's on the "mist setting" where it'll activate every 'so many' seconds.
I'm not sure where to start looking.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks.

Burning Brakes
I have the same issue plus my low speed setting won't work but my high speed setting setting runs at the slow speed. Just for giggles randomly the speeds will work in the right position until changed.
Rather than go bonkers trying to figure it out, I bought a new switch that I hope to install this weekend.

I have the EXACT same problem!!!
Flip up to first position (the "mist" one), nothing happens. Slow and fast work, stop when I stop.
I don't get much rain anyway, so I've made a game out of timing the turnoff perfectly
This thread's on my watch list now. Hope one of us can figure it out!
Btw, are we all early cars?

I have the same issue and swapped the relay from an s2 with a good wiper system and no change. I actually suspect the Turn signal/wiper/cruise stalk combo switch. My intermittent doesn't work at all and they stop the instant they are flipped off.
That's going to be $300 i could have spent on something else :P

Pauly I'd swap out the delay setting switch/adjuster, as it may be culprit. The one that came in my car worked at one speed or off, so got a second hand switch and now can set speed properly. Wasn't expensive, but can get you a new one through work if you want. Let me know if you do

i'll test it,
the wipers use to work and the adjuster use to speed up or slow down the pause intervals then that stopped working (wipers stay off, and wipers dont return to original position)

I finally got around to having a look at it. Geez im lazy! LOL
I think it's the relay. I cannot be bothered buying a new one. Anyone have a clue how to test these? I know how a relay works but there's 3 other pins i'm not sure about

Oh hey this thread. I scored another Wiper/turn/cruise stalk switch assembly last year and it fixed everything. My wipers now park correctly and the intermittent works.

I've spent a bunch of time studying the wiring diagram when I rewired the ChumpCar - I wanted to keep the wiper motor, but not the switch.
The "parking" function happens by actually reversing the polarity between two leads that goes to the wiper motor. So, when your wipers stop parking, it's probably a switch problem.
But I guess you figured that out.

Oh really? Learn something new every day. So it must be the relay.
If anyone can tell me how to test it, that would be great. The 3 pins with letters I'm not sure what they do. But I understand the number ones.

look a diagram. find the leg for power in, and ground out, then find leg for for switched ground. then tap power to the pole to throw the relay, if you don't hear it go, it's dead
easier way. leave it in the fuse/relay panel, switch the wipers on, place your index(not thumb as it has a pulse) on top of the relay, if you feel it click, it's good
