Default Rear sway bar on an early car

All my searching tells me the thing should bolt right up but I'm having problems. According to the stock sway bar on my turbo this bolt should sit nicely in the trailing arm and allow the eccentricness to do its thing, but the hole in the trailing arm isn't bit enough, and the bolt is too long. What am I doing wrong?

It replaces that flat head one... The hole you're trying to put it in is for the toe-alignment tool.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that makes sense thanks. What's your opinion on the factory drop links? They don't really match the delrin bushings for the middle...

I think KLA drop links are (or were) cheaper than OEM.

Factory drop links (rubber) are a good idea if you have Delrin at the centers. Personally I don't like to put too much stress on the sway bar attachment on the control arms. So I fit Delrin inners and rubber outers or rubber inners and spherical outers, but not both.

I already have some factory drop links, I guess I'll use them

Why not? They're hand-me-downs from an 87 turbo and I got all the hardware for like $30, so the price was right

Dude, you need a power steering leak back there to protect your metal from rust, haha j/k

Penetrating oil is your friend.
