Default Should the airbox be level or slightly canted?

I had one of those cone filters on the car. I threw that away. I was test fitting the airbox yesterday after getting everything else back together. The bottom half of it was slightly canted towards the drivers side of the car. I put the top half onto it and it all seemed to fit fine.

My question is, should it be slightly canted like that? All the pictures I've looked at make it look level. None of the brackets appear to be bent or tweaked.

Yes, mine was on a slant towards the driver's side.
