So I just moved to Athens last week, but today I was driving past the Sonic in Bogart and saw about 4 of what I'm assuming was ya'll, but couldn't stop. Anyway, I just frantically started googling trying to figure out if there is a regular meetup and found this. I don't have a 944, or any kind of performance car for that matter right now, but is there any regular meetup? I know there are car shows at the Varsity every now and then, but I'm looking for more of what this little meetup appeared to be.

We will be having regular meets in the near future so keep checking the forum for updates. We are going to be putting up a Facebook page for an Athens 944/Porsche club so keep your eyes open for that. What part of Athens are you from?

Welcome! You did indeed see a couple of us at the Sonic in Bogart last night. There is an 'all makes and models' type of car meet there about once a month. A little of everything from Volvo's to old Datsun's showed up. Rob (with the grey 944) and I (burgundy 944) met up with a couple other cars from the east side of town and cruised up there together.

If you are looking for a 944 to drive, just search around on Craigslist and eventually something you like will show up within your budget. I've got a black 944 Turbo for sale, (the one in the pictures above, with the silver mesh wheels) It needs some work but if you are interested in it just let me know and I'll give ya a great deal. You will probably be seeing it up on Craigslist sometime soon for around 4500 but I would gladly take way less.

If that offer still stands in a few months, I just might take you up on it. I've been wanting to get a car to take to Road Atlanta and at the top of my list are an FC RX7 or 944 Turbo. I used to drive a '98 240SX and I miss it an absurd amount. Right now, though, I'm still looking for a job. Oddly enough, Athens does not present as many job opportunities as Houston. On that note, would ya'll have any idea of somebody hiring someone with a degree in math and minor in statistics?

In all seriousness, though, what forum does the all makes thing get organized on? I absolutely want to be there for it.

I am always cruising up to Road Atlanta in my 944. Feel free to go with anytime. You should buy drifta944's turbo. Its pretty sick!
