Best time of the year down here, 80's all day. I'll start a summer sux thread in August though. I'd rather put on more clothes and heat the garage than try too cool it down from high humidity and 90's. The car runs like crap in that weather and even with t-shirt & shorts i'm dripping in sweat after 5-mins of wrenching. Now I'll f#ck off.

I've been looking into electric heaters just because I'm tired of buying propane and my dad started himself on fire this year from hovering over my heater too long. Funny after it happened but he burnt his leg up pretty bad! I also thought of running a gas line from the house to a permanent mounted heater too.

yeah that heater gets the job done but when i first got it i had to fix it because of shipping the fan was knock of the pin or something like that but i feel anything made in a factory these days has to be reassembled when you get it home

it is a 220 line but if you know anything about house wiring and your panel box is in your garage you can put a plug in for pretty cheap

my ceilings are 18ft and the garage is about 27X40 with a 16x16 wood shop on the back end but i dont really heat the woodshop all the time

hope this helps

How long does it take to heat up your space? I have a 2 1/2 car garage and haven't really been satisfied with anything electric, yet.

it takes about 45 to an hour before my sweat shirt is off and i am in a tee shirt

electric heaters suck unless it is forced air. mine blows a good 15 feet and glows bright red but next time i go to my shop ill pull out the heat gun and get you some temp numbers

Winter misery loves company. I am ready for summer too.

It was 60 degrees here yesterday, so I took the Porsche out for the day. They predicted snow flurries today, so I figured I would put the 944 back in the garage and pull out the Jeep this morning. This is what I woke up to.

i always get a kick out of people who live in cold climates talking about how great it is that it was 40 or 45 today !... on my air dam project, i was running out of time.... although November was very VERY nice in Mass, i was finishing it by making a nice fire in a 1 gallon paint can to allow the resins to set as the temperatures dropped into the 40s with the setting of the sun.... finally finishing two days before Thanksgiving.... then i beat the traffic to Miami using 84 to 81 to 77 to 95 to avoid the east coast gridlock and escape winter for the win. f uck working on cars in the cold !

It's been a pretty mild winter for "Chicagoans". Quite a few 40+ degree days which is surprising.. But today it's snowing like crazy but with the temps it might not stick too long.

My garage is fully insulated, and when I run my kerosene salamander heater, it is comfortable within a 1/2 hour, unless it is severely cold outside. Though the winter bums me out a bit. It is hard to justify cranking on the heat to go out and tinker around, and start a project. It is much easier to bench race here at RL. I have 4 projects waiting right now, with another project that I need to order parts for first. I'll wait until early spring I suppose...(That and my winter "honeydo" list does not include working on the car)
