Default 944S Acceleration Issues

I have an '87 944S with 75K. I have had a flat spot in the initial acceleration in first gear which I can't seem to diagnose. I have replaced all vacuum lines, including the elusive ones under the intake.

The car runs great and once it is past this initial flat spot it pulls very hard to redline in all gears.

I initially found some plugs on the rear of the engine disconnected and reconnected them. With that done and the new vacuum lines installed the car runs much smoother overall.

I would appreciate any thoughts on this.

Thanks, John

I'd have a look at the AFM as per Clarks Garage

If that happens (the worn tracking) it has exactly the same symptoms as your situation.
