how to safely jack up just the front or back ?

I'm glad you have been fortunate so far to not have yours collapse. I hope your luck continues.
BUT, they are absolutely NOT stronger than the frame rails. And knowing what I know and what I've seen, I don't touch them.

The argument about the factory using them all four at once because they distribute the weight evenly doesn't make any sense either. That would confirm they are safe to support at each corner individually supporting a 1/4 of the weight.
I will however take another look at the sheet metal there on mine and report back. Last time i looked (while ago) after years of using them I had not seen damage. Yet i always see sheet metal damage on frame rails on other cars.

Hey guys, does anybody have a link to a small (hopefully cheaper) lift for a regular garage? If not, since I think most of them are rather expensive, what jack stands do you trust? Personally I tend not to trust them at all but the point about torquing the car in a bad way is something I've never thought of and definitely a valid point.

I trust proper jackstands, properly set, far more than a cheap lift made in china.

yea idk just something about jackstands make me think they're gonna fail lol but then again I have rather cheap ones that I never use so I should probably invest in some good quality SAFE jackstands

I'm looking to get a low rise lift to avoid this decision. They sell for between $1200 and $1500. I can't stand having the bottom of the car only a few inches from my face.
