Default 1986 -- Gas Pedal Floors On Startup when not stepping on brakes

just bought a 86 944 2.5l, and when I got it, it wasn't starting, due to a bad ignition switch. I replaced it, and started it and it revs all the way up (and won't stop 'til rev limiter) unless I'm pressing on the brakes. I can have the car running all day as long as Im pressing the brakes

I took the thrttle body apart, and cleaned the throttle body position sensor with some Electronics part cleaner. I also cleaned off the MAF (I think it's the MAF thats right outside of the air box). I started it up with the same results.

I have figured out that the selenoid that controls the throttle keeps pegging all the way up when the car is on...

The picture are posted. The second one is position it pegs to. (Which is full throttle)

The cruise control cable can be adjusted, but it sounds like either the cruise control brain or actuator is broken...

Bad cruise control... I would just do a cruise control delete, I never use it on the 944 anyway.

You were right! I took out the fuse and it started and ran fine.

My issue is, how do I do a proper cruise control delete? Because now my brake lights don't work...

Its easy. All you need to do is remove the cruise control motor from the engine bay, remove the computer from under the dash on the drivers side (its a small silver box held on by 2 bolts) and disconnect the cable from the throttle and the gas pedal and pull it out of the car.
