I have been trying to teach myself how to Heel/toe drive and I am wondering the same thing.. This is My first quote on quote "Sports Car" and I thought they would all have that kind of gap.. But I would be interested to hear what you figure out because im looking for something as well.

I just practiced a lot and got used to the travel, it takes time to develop a feel for the right amount of throttle blip + clutch release. once you get it down it's just muscle memory, you don't think too hard about it. I do agree that there is a lot of excess travel, maybe you could modify the clutch pedal return spring assembly and add a stiffer spring.

Do you still have the carpet in the footwell? I noticed without the carpet there was an additional inch of pedal travel that did nothing. A pedal stop for the clutch might help you. For the brake, some guys put a bend into the brake pedal arm to move it closer to the gas pedal.
