Default Need help with new motor mount fitment

Hey guys - I'm in the middle of replacing my motor mounts and I'm having some trouble. When installing the new mounts, does the upper outside edge fit into the cast "overhang" on the cross member, or does it just butt up against it?
If it is supposed to fit under it can anyone offer any advice to accomplish this? I haven't been able to squish the mount under there.....

When I did mine back in 2008, I used vaseline to help seat the mount against the engine supports.

Yes it goes in the slot. It doesn't appear you've dropped the crossmember at all? That's very likely necessary. Is that a spacer on the top side of the crossmember? I don't recall there being one there, but it's been a while.

Fun job, isn't it?!

Yeah, I had dropped the crossmember to get the old mounts out. I was tightening it up when I noticed it wasn't going to line up correctly. I'll try a little grease on it tonight....

Well I finally did get it together. What a pain. Used grease. Used pry bar. Struggled for a while but eventually got it together. It was just as much of a pain to line up the 2 upper bolt holes. Thanks for the help guys. Now it's on to the oil cooler housing seals....
