Default Wiring the O2 Sensor on 944

I picked up a "mechanic's special" 84 944 with an 87 engine (944) transplant and as I was changing my clutch (see separate thread for my notes on that), I noticed the O2 sensor wire had been cut...

Can anyone recommend a good source of info on wiring the O2 (the haynes manual leaves a lot to be desired on this subject). I'm guessing I will have to start at the DME and work towards the sensor as I do not see a hanging wire anywhere...

Thanks in advance for the help.

Oh - I'm also open to going without an O2 if there are other solutions for tuning the engine.

I believe the connector for the O2 sensor is behind the manifold, near where the speed/reference sensors are. It's an odd plug with 3 terminals, 2 female 1 male (on the sensor sides). I don't know how the wire snakes down from there, but it shouldn't be too indirect.
