Default My 944 project /side skirt?

Hello I just picked up a 83 944. I'm planing on swapping an Audi 7a in the car. I just put in the suspension out of an 87 parts car. I'm new to the cars and was wondering whack kind of side skirts the care came with? I have a spare set and was wondering if they are worth keeping?

None of the 944s models either early or late came with side skirts,if you got a set it's an aftermarket add on.Btw link to your pics don't work.

Welcome.

Those are aftermarket, as Ernie says the factory didn't fit any skirts to 944's.

Take it that is a picture of the car before the the 87 suspension fit, those wheels look like early offset. btw the 83 is one of the lightest 944's made, you can have a lot of fun with that chassis!

To answer your previous question, none of the 928 interior bits will fit in a 944. And unless you're willing to do considerable fabrication work, a 928 gearbox will not fit either. If you're interested in the strongest gearbox, source a 944 turbo one.

Why are you swapping an Audi engine in?

IFC makes those side skirts but a few other companies have their own version of the boxed rockers. Your best bet would be to sell the spare set on ebay. You might get $100 out of them. Might.

And Porsche did do factory 'side skirts' on the 951's (turbos). Not really a side skirt but more of a rocker extension/trim. Something to look into if you want factory.

If you really want skirts though, look into the dished rockers. They look a hell of a lot nicer than the boxed rockers and when blended into the body, it almost looks like they belong.

Here is a set of "concave" skirts on ebay. No affiliation, and I don't do stuff to my car if it doesn't make it faster, but I do like the way these look. I too wonder if the OP is referring to the black plastic edge pieces that bolt to the bottom on 951s?

Regards,

doug

First good luck trying to find a five speed 928/S/S4 tranny & secondly trying to fit it on a 944.A 928 tranny will probably break before a 951/S2 does.Lol a 951 tranny will outlast that Audi motor unless your planning to get 500 + HP out of it .Btw why would you want a 928 interior if your not satisfy with the 944 early interior just get a late interior for it.

Sounds like you'd be better off selling the 944 and buying a 928 if you want the trans and interior of such.
