Default 1979 Porsche 924 5speed - $1000 (allentown)

I normally let CL ads go by, but this seems like it has the potential to be a better deal than most: http://allentown.craigslist.org/cto/2826835174.html

Is that VA? I wish it was close and I'd go take a look at it.

Word. My indy called and my $0 Volvo 850 Turbo is now a $3,800 Volvo 850 Turbo. But, with a little luck it'll run for another 50k-100k with regular maintenance. I have a 13 year-old daughter...

Didn't a '79 come with a 4 speed, not a 5 speed? I know my '78 has a 4 speed. Guy needs to use spell/grammer check on his ad also.

I do stray away from craigslist ads that have major spelling or grammer problems. Also things like no periods or the random capitolized.

I think 79 is when you started getting 5 and 4 speeds but I could be wrong. That's just off the top of my head.

79 had a 5spd as an option.

if it's the car i think it is, it's also missing the title unless he finaly went through the process of getting one.

Kind of weird he says its a daily driver but he has only put 2500 miles on it since he's owned it. Unless he's only had it a few months.

Back in the day my Dad owned a martini rossi 924 back in the early 80's. It broke down 3 hours away from St. Louis, MO. It was the same issue he describes in the ad where it will start when stone cold, but not after being warmed up. Made me a chuckle a bit. I think they have a fix for that now.
