Help identify this part
The part in the attached photo fell to the floor when I removed the glove
box. I think it's from the lock but I removed the lock and couldn't figure out
where it fits.
It's 1986 Porsche 944.
Any help will be appreciated.

Yea thats the latch mechanism that holds the glove box closed.
There should be two of them, one engages into each side of the glove box attachment point,( that plastic thing in the middle of the glove box door)
Odds are the whole lock assembly has fallen apart.
