Why delete post info? Now people won't know how much a set of 17" turbo twists goes for. (I was curious to see, as I'm in the market for wheels/tires)

Because people keep sending me PM's asking if they are still available. My 17" replicas went for $750 but they were in mint condition with Pilot Sport Cups.

Piper, a little OT, did you ship the rims, or did a local buy them? Who did you use, and how much? I'm trying to sell my Mille Miglia turbo twist but UPS wants like $60 a rim to ship.....Thanks!

I ended up shipping them to Main, from Michigan. I was charged $240 to ship them. The UPS employee informed me that I would have saved myself $40 if I packaged them in rectangular boxes as opposed to covering the rims with circular cardboard cutouts and duck tape.

Always strap / tape / band pairs of wheels together too when shipping, and face the pretty sides of the pairs inside for protection. As long as the pairs of wheels don't weigh over 70lbs, you will save $ versus shipping them individually. FWIW, UPS store sell "microwave" shipping boxes that fit most wheel pairs nicely.

Matt, when UPS weighed the rim/tire they were almost 50lbs each, so that wont work with the heavy Mille Miglias unless I ship w/o the tires. I may just have to sepertate the tires from rims. Selling rims is such a pain in the ***.

I shipped 4 BBS wheels in 1 box through UPS for $87. They only weighed 70lbs!

Good point, I've typically done wheels by themselves, or tires by themselves (like coming in from Tire Rack), and they have always been under 70lbs for a pair. If the tires are junk, I would remove them, but one slice or cardboard (or two) between the wheel faces, wrap the wheel pairs in misc cardboard pieces for extra protection of the lip, then go with a big box like the microwave box.

I should also clarify that the microwave box suggestion doesn't work when tires are still mounted to the wheels - they are only big enough for wheels, and they fit a pair of most sizes that we would put on 951's just right as long as you don't put two rears in the same box .
