Hi,
Whats wrong with the dampers?
Cheers
Tenn
It was designed to handle 163hp on 944 auto's.For some reason factory used same part on 968. Even 968's original hp figures are just too high for it. It will let you down sooner or later, especially with hopped up vechile..

Oli,
My car have KW V3 in it, will that give me any problem? Or you are talking about other component of the suspension?
Cheers

Agree one what your saying, each model as it's pro & con either 944s/951/968/928 ect ect.But still think Porsche really did profit from all the past experience to create the 968.Not saying this because I own one but talking with forty one years experience of porsche ownership ranging from 914 6 /911 & finally 944s 968.It's not the out of this world power that make driving a 968 so pleasurable but the way it does get to top speed without drama, also if well sorte out suspension wise(which you don't have to spend a fortune on doing so since it's pretty is from the factory) it will hold to road with the best out there.Btw I think John was just pulling our legs even though like he said the 968 is just a 944 that want's to play up in 928 skirt he still planing to get one in the future & something you got to remember boost addiction is a decease which is very hard to cure & lol sometime very expensive to live with.Still will like to get my hand on a 928 GTS.

I know what you are saying Ernie about going to top speed without drama. I have taken the 968 to just over 130 and it was like it was meant to be there. I have had my 944 topped out at 125 and it was OK, but you know you were doing something wrong if that makes sense.

This is my second front engine porsche the first being 924 carera GT.
I love that car and wish i didnt sell it. It was a great fun to drive.

This is the reason i want to have another front engine porsche again.

Took the 968 for a long drive to day took her all the way up to 220 km/h. feel solid and no drama at all. The only thing is i wish it's a 6 speed manual.
Still have my hot rod early 911 and 964 turbo, going to be hard to choose which to take out for a drive.

Each model have their charm and we can not denied that newer model are better than last.
But the best one is the one in your garage that you can drive and enjoy.

Damper is a part of your Tiptronic transmission. It is located where is normally your clutch. Nothing to do with suspension. Changing a damper is a very big job to do. I ahve done it, and most likely i don't want to do it again !

So this supercharger is >$5k how does it feel and did you have a vehicle inspection to see how it is running and holding up? Claimed bhp should be around 300.

Olli,
Ok now i get it hope it will be ok for now. The tip just been rebuild by the PO ( may be because of the increase power?) but its shift nice and smooth even when high rev. So i will keep my finger cross.

So far so good. No heating issue. The car rev very very fast after 5k it feel like the power just keep coming. Very addicticve .
The annoying thing is, its a tip! Every time it shift up, it come out of power band. Feel like It about 1000 rpm to low. If this car is 6 speed it will be a very capable car. Its doesnt feel that far off my 420 hp 964 turbo. Feel less dramatic as well, very stable at hight speed.

The car is in the paint shop atm. I have new wheels ready to put in once its come out

I'm in BKK at least once a month and haven't seen a 944/968 on the streets there. It's probably because the traffic between Taksin bridge and the Sukhumvit area is so bad you can't get a car over 50km no matter what you do. That's why I always use the BTS to get across town. I've been going to BKK for over 40 years and although the skyline has changed with all the "high rise" buildings, the people and the food remain outstanding. I love it there. Maybe we'll run into each other there sometime.
