What's the darkest one you have? I'm working on a black 951 track car, and I want the headlights to look like factory flip-ups (i.e. camouflaged on the black car).

That would be sexy.

I recommend you the dark grey over black buckets.
With the lights off, they will look black.
Thanks

Frporscheman, if you do it, take pics and let me know! LOL! That is my beef with the gt conversion, I just prefer the lines of the car without it, but...know how much weight we loss and the airflow with the conversion.

Are those the only lights that work though? Any suggestions for single or double type instead of the 70's square? (no offense for those that prefer it to look like a oem gt btw)

These look amazing. I also think the CFRP buckets would look awesome, but probably only on a black car...

Stokes for folks as they say....

Personally I think the 4x6 & 5x7 fit the esthetics of the 951 much better than the quad projectors. The fact is, the 951 IS an 80's car. For example (and I'm certain there will be those who adamantly disagree with me) the 968 mirros on a 951 don't look right. The lines of the car/mirrors don't match.

Just my $0.02

What exactly are the quad projectors lighting made up of?
Are those from D9?

Would consider alternative lighting options since I am nearly upon this mod.

I started working on the 951/S2 molds over the week-end.
I’m expecting to do the first mold test within the next 2 weeks.

Personally I think 968 mirrors and door handles have no business being on a 951; the styles clash. Same thing with the projectors, it doesn't really fit the style of the car. Projectors are cool so they will look cool on anything, but when they're on an old car it just sticks out like a sore thumb.

Of course, that's just IMO.

I want to use the rectangular lights. When I get the dark gray lenses, it will (hopefully) look awesome during the day, but I'm worried about light output at night, so I might experiment with some different light bulbs. I just want normal light output in the end.

FRporscheman: +1 that's what I said and my feelings also.

As to what lights to use.... I can't recommend highly enough to go with a HID kit. While I still had the stock "flip" headlights in the 951 I converted to a 35 watt Bixenon H4 kit and it is the best headlight conversion you can make. I know there are guys out there with the IceShark kit but at one of our local C&C's (Cars & Coffee) we put both cars side by side with the headlights on and the HID are so much better (full disclosure: this was in the day light.) And they're far FAR less expensive. You can find HID kits on eBay for < $100.

I also converted the Fogs over to a 35 watt HID system. I can drive around town using just the fogs! I don't have them installed yet but I have a 100 watt HID kit for the driving lights (I have the euro fog/driving lights) I'm really looking forward to getting the driving lights installed. I expect them to be incredible.....

YMMV

Putting HIDs into a reflector housing is EVIL. It's a misapplication of the tech, and it will blind everyone in front of you.

I mean I don't get super bright head lights. I can see perfectly with H4s and Euro lenses. Stock sealed-beams are a little weak.

Fog lights only need to be bright enough to reflect off of tail lights and signs, so you can see them through fog. And since running fog lights when there's no fog is illegal (at least in CA), I'm happy to leave the stock H1 bulbs in there. Fog lights shine in all directions (so they can reflect off of signs), so to leave them on is just going to annoy other drivers, especially if you've made them brighter.

Didn't mean to hijack this thread....

BUt quickly, FRporscheman none of your cars have a H1 in the fogs. The 968 has a H1 in the driving lights. The 944/51 euro fogs use a H3 for both fogs and driving the only difference being the driving lights don't have a "diffuser" in the lense.

A H4 HID bulb in a E code Hella lense is no different than a H4 halogen in the same lense.

Now no more chat about bulbs and lenses, etc. Lets get back to 924-76's development of the 951 headlight covers!
