So on my 88 944 turbo around 3000rpm it makes a loud rattle. and then once I turn the car off it rattles and stops. Any Ideas what it could be? Maybe a spring in the wastegate? If any one has some input or similar experiences help would be greatly appreciated!

You definitely need to be more specific... Where abouts does this rattle sound like it's coming from? (Front or Back of the car)
Does it sound like a Heat Shield (thin metal rattle) or like a Transmission Gear Rattle (pretty common among 944's) or does it sound like interior type rattles?

Could also be a cat converter that's toast. If it's the monolithic type, the innards vibrate loose then beat themselves to pieces over time. I had one turn into a ball that would plug the outlet on turns, stall out the engine. Smack the bottom of the cat with the heel of your hand, if you hear it moving around, there ya go.
