Tires for 16x9 Fuchs on rear of na
The current tires rub on the drivers side rear wheel under hard right turns, I did some tire shopping yesterday and was recommended to use p225/50 r16 as a solution. What are thoughts on the appearance/performance of this setup? Too narrow?

You should be able to fit 254s in there. Probably some tire experts will chime in. I think 225 is too narrow A) for the rear of a rear wheel drive car, and B) for a 9 inch wide wheel.

i have 255/40R17 on my rears... They are giant snow tires; But they only rub if i hit a large bump, and have lots of stuff in the trunk.
225s are a pretty common tire size for a 944na. I actually ran 215/60R15 for a long time and liked them; they handled great.
With an NA you really don't need anything larger than 225... I don't think there is really even an advantage to running wider tires; plus skinnier tires are less expensive and handle better in the rain or snow.
EDIT:
Just noticed you're talking about a 9" rim... 225 may be a little too skinny... 245 would probably be your best bet.

I have 255/40/17 no rubbing at all on 1987 n/a. I like the look and handles nice with them on .Thinner tire less rolling resistance = better gas milage though.

well i think a 225 50 will stretch a good bit. i have 9s and my 235 are stretched like hell. if you are lowered and want a stretched tire go 235/45/16 or 245/40/16 and it looks good.if your not. go big tires or go home. lost of room if not low
