Default Pin 19 DME

I am troubleshooting an issue where my 85 will start and then die after a second or two. The issue started after I had had the intake off replacing vacuum lines. It would run at first but poorly and the idle would bounce up and down now it will start for about 2 seconds and die. If i squirt stater fluid it runs for about 5-7 secs so I was thinking it was cutting the injectors.

Pulled the DME and pin 19 is burnt. Its apparently the ground for the DME so I believe my DME to be fried and thus be the cause of my issue.

What would cause this pin to get hot though? I dont want to get a new DME and run into the same problem. From what I can tell the grounds runs to the top of the bellhousing. I guess its possible I knocked the ground or something when I was replacing vacuum lines.

Is there anything else to look out for.

I've heard that if engine grounds are bad the DME ground takes the load and is obviously too much for a little pin.

So would this be enough to kill the DME?

Yeah I did - I think it would....just looking for that definite answer I guess.

I have another DME on the way so hopefully that will fix it
