Default clutch issue

Okay, never had this happen before. About a week ago I parked my 88 NA and everything was fine, sat for maybe a day and went to take it for a drive and the clutch sunk to the floor and stayed. I can reach under and lift it back up and it stays in place. It was very cold that morning so I thought somthing was frozen. Waited a few days till the weather was I. The forties and tried again and same problem. Any ideas?? Thanks!!!

Probably the clutch slave cylinder. Easy to replace.

Simple either your clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder are gone. For master cylinder leaks check inside the car behind the clutch pedal if you see oil dripping on your carpet that will be the one leaking. Also if no sign of oil pull the rubber boot #13 on it you migth find oil there.Second one the slave is located behind the starter near the bell housing if it does leak bad you'll probably see oil on the floor or driveway but sometime if it's a slow leak oil will simply accumulate in the bell housing & drip little at the time. When replacing one it's alway a good idea to replace both. The first pic master cylinder diagram.Second pic slave cylinder.

At this point in the age of the car, its probably good to replace the hose as well. I have the same problem in my 968, which recently had a new clutch installed.

if you replace the slave cylinder its rule of thumb to replace the master clutch as well. one can blow out the other.
