When were your belts and water pump done last? are you willing it DIY?
Thanks. Could a too light of weight oil cause leaks?

Previous owner said ~10k miles ago. I'm willing to tackle most jobs, but I draw the line with engine internals and trans missions.

I don't. Waiting the return of a Carfax in hopes I can see what the mileage was when recorded for titles.

Well I took ownership today. Here are some of my findings:

Driverside door handle didnt work, fixed that.
Window switches were hit or miss, fixed those.
No battery strap or holders.
Looks to of had a heater core rupture at some point.
Heater fan does not work.

Leaks more oil than I'm comfortable with.

Found these wires. Any guess as to what they go to?

Is this the oil filter? Did some cut and splice these lines? What are those lines for?

Thanks for all of your help!!!!

If the car has proper records then you can know it has <100k. Mine reads 92xxx and i KNOW it is. Just by looking at the car, and the history.

Well i can tell you, you have the wrong washer pump.

Those spliced lines look like they have coolant? does it go to the tube running along the head above the header? If so it is coolant and it is all wrong. You should be replacing all of the coolant lines in the car anyways. Well worth the $100. Once that's all cleaned up you'll be able to get to the oil filter much more easily. If they are not hooked up to the coolant system... well i dunno, they shouldn't be there as far as i know.

That white wire shoudn't be there, seem an attempt to rig up a ground of some kind, same goes for the wires coming out of your w/w pump & as mention it's the wrong one. That pump should be mounted in front of the w/w reservoir not on the fender. The hoses (whatever they are have also been splice & rig up). There shouldn't be anything going on top of your oil filter except the coil wire.Sending you two part diagrams 1/05/05 is your water hoses & associated parts the other is your power steering lines an associated parts.Rigth now with those hoses in the way it will be next to impossible to remove your oil filter. So it will be a good idea to sorte them out ASP.

Lol just got it, is your w/w pump running ? if not that white wire migth have come undone from the green wire on it (which will be the ground).

Remember it’s an automatic, those hoses over the oil filter should hold trans fluid.

To your oil problem if its coming out of the belt cover I suggest a full front reseal of the engine.

One more thing to mention...

When I go from Park to Drive, the rear of the car drops a good inch or so. ...?

Automatics in this forum seem to be quit rare. I don’t have an under hood picture, but you can see from the PET page I posted items (1) and (2) are solid hoses, not spliced with pipe like yours are.

Id say try to locate a salvage manual and swap out the transmission. Youll be much happier with a stick

Nah, too much involed. If I wanted a 5 speed, I would have just got one from the start.

i am a auto owner at the moment and that copper spliced line is your trans fluid cooler line that runs into your rad (claps look fresh)

the wire looks like a ground that would go to the aftermarket washer pump but thats just a guess

do a tune up, kits are pretty cheap Ebay
