Is that worth putting on your car if it's not "real"? Maybe it is real...
Like I said, find some BBS Motorsport wheels, then get the fans.
That's what I would do.
Yes, they are real. Porsche used them in some of the 956, 962 series cars as well as a different version (more conical than flat) in the 935 series (see the Moby Dick 935). IIRC, there was also a version on the 936 as well.

The wheel fans in the original post are real. But what about the ones with the cheesy BBS and wheel spokes painted on? They are designed for BBS RS. Are they a BBS part?
darenchu, if you want the real thing, and you want sources, have you tried calling BBS Motorsport?
There was a guy in FLA selling a grey plastic version of the BBS wheel fans that had a threaded collar held in the wheel center with set screws and a black plastic nut that held the fan on, like a center lock. I had a set on my front 16x8 fuchs and the front brakes ran cooler, but I forget by how much. I was cooking the rotors when I first started DE with stock pads.
I have a set of 15" BBS RS wheels on an old BMW and some BBS Turbofans to go with them. They are very rare and expensive when you find them. The painted design is classic. I know a guy selling a pair for like 900 bucks....about as much as 2 real RS wheels!
F1 use them as well, doesn't cover the whole wheel, but they are on there.
it's an aero thing, instead of a wheel sucking air into the wheel well it creates a pressure differential between wheel well and outside wheel, where the wheel well has a higher pressure and pushes air out.
Arent there racing rims from the 70s and 80s that have a similar design but are actually the spokes themselves? I see them on some old Porsche 911 and they would look pretty cool on a 944

I realize that the last post on this thread was over six years ago however I've always been a "fan (yes, cheesy pun intended) of BBS Wheel fans. A real icon of racing in the 1980's at least in my opinion. I did notice that there is a seller on eBay hawking these for $400 per set. With "real" sets fetching upwards of $2K when you can find them I was glad to see a vendor reproducing them. I'm only posting this as a "FYI" as I neither have any affiliation with the seller or any knowledge of the quality of the product. The seller's ID is "autopure" and you can search their products here:
