I answered his question. It's easier for me to machine adapters than fabricate an entire set of strut housings. The paint's taking longer to dry lol.. Also there are only two strut/spindle interface dimensions....

EARLY ..................58mm C2C holes with a 20mm wide spindle mount
86T, 87-up ALL .....63mm C2C holes with a 18mm wide spindle mount

This mod is actually faster than modding the EARLY strut for Late spindle interface....and I can do both now.

There must be a coilover sleeve out there with at least 2.15" I.D
I'm searching around for some, but in the mean time I bored the I.D. of a spare set of perches I had laying around to fit the O.D.(2.135" painted) of the Late strut housings.....

You forgot....price..... Where do they fit on a scale from KYB to Koni?

As long as the O.D. of the insert is 1.978" or smaller and the body is 13-14"

I also found an off-the shelf set of sleeves at 2.170" I.D. so that problem is solved as well.

Koni's were $400/set hack-mod or not.

Are they self rebuildable? like motorcycle dampers?
Also what would be the ideal insert part #? Damp/rebound yada yada

Rob, do you think you could modify 1986 Turbo strut housings to take this Bilstein HD inserts?

Part Number: 34-001042
Old Part Number: F4-P30-0104-H0;F4-P30-0104-H1

If they are the same dimensions as an early insert it can be done the same way I just posted. Would be another first...bolt-in Bilsteins

Yes, these are Bilsteins (pn 34-001042/F4-P30-0104-H0) that are the ones that go in the early 944 strut housings. Just had not seen anybody put them in a 944T strut housing which is what I'd like to do.
