Aftermarket CV question
Just picked up a rebuilt driver's side rear axle for my '87 944 T from NAPA (as I'm getting a vibration/noise from the left rear under acceleration, especially with weight/load/kids in the back) and noticed that the NAPA CV's don't have that indented/recessed area in the face of each CV where the gasket goes. The CV's on my car now (which I assume are OEM) do have that recessed area in which gaskets sit.
On the + side the axles themselves are beefier than what's on my car.
Anyway, obviously there won't be any gasket with this style of CV, does anyone see any problems with that? Have any suggestions? Liquid gasket between the CV's face and face of trans/axle stub? Bolt 'em on and see if any CV grease leaks out?

Burning Brakes
i just installed new aftermarket CVs from 944 online; because of the same vibration problem...
There was no gasket on these ones either; so Shouldn't be a problem!
p.s. Vibration is Gone! yet another problem fixed with only Time, Money, and Blood..

944Ross, thanks, I did a search and found a CV thread of mine from a couple months ago when I replaced my passenger side axle.
pnbell & 944Ross, long story short, thanks guys, I'll just bolt it up and be done with it.
