Got the SOB out using my 6' steel pipe as a breaker bar extender. It popped and I stopped to check that I didn't break the breaker bar. Started again and after about 45 degrees, it all broke loose. Everything else came out easy and got the seal and oil sleeve out. The O ring was hard and came out in little pieces. No scarring on the oil sleeve but I put a new one in anyhow. I'm keeping my "special tool" for the next time something needs attention.

All done. It starts and runs like I hoped it would. I'm planning to run it for a while and check to verify the main seal leak is fixed. I have no reason to suspect it isn't but before I put the front covers back on I want to know for sure. The Belts sound good and no whining on the balance belt. A shower and two beers later I have a big grin on my face. Next project: The Oil pan gasket. Not looking forward to that one. I appreciate all of the inputs from others in this forum. That's the reason it all worked out in the end.
